About Us
The Meghalaya Urban Development Authority was constituted under the Meghalaya Town and Country Planning Act, 1973.
Initially, as per Section 8 of the Act, the Shillong Development Authority was constituted in March 1990 with its jurisdiction over the Shillong Master Plan Area. In 1991, its jurisdiction was extended to cover the whole State, and it was renamed the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority.
