AMRUT 2.0
Salient Features
- Launched on 1 October 2021.
- Aims to develop water-secure cities in the spirit of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.
- Project components under CWAP include universal coverage of water supply; sewerage, septage management and recycling/reuse of treated used water; and rejuvenation of water bodies (including urban wetlands) and creation of green spaces.
- The total indicative outlay for AMRUT 2.0 for Meghalaya is ₹121 crore, including a central share of ₹110 crore, for five years from FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26 (funding for north-eastern states is on a 90:10 basis).
- City Water Action Plans (CWAPs) comprise project proposals targeting gaps identified in the CWBPs, inviting proposals for universal water supply and rejuvenation of water bodies, green spaces and parks.

Of the 8 projects submitted under Tranche 1 of the State Water Action Plans (SWAPs), the Williamnagar Urban Water Supply Scheme has been approved by the Apex Committee at a cost of ₹121 crore.
